‘Frosty the Inappropriate Snowman’: A very ‘HIMYM’ Christmas

CBS’ video mashup of a beloved Christmas special and “How I Met Your Mother” has sparked outrage among family-values types for putting Barney Stinson’s words into Frosty the Snowman’s mouth.

To those people upset with the video, we’d like to offer our thanks, because it might not have come to our attention otherwise.

“Frosty the Inappropriate Snowman” takes clips from the original “Frosty” and the lesser “Frosty Returns” (both of which air Dec. 18 on CBS) and combines them with some of Barney’s (Neil Patrick Harris) racier dialogue from “HIMYM.”

The result is — to our eyes and ears, anyway — a funny, grown-up remix that has Barney-as-Frosty talking about bro’s night at a strip club and his porn collection.

Good for the little ones? Well, no — but it’s also not intended for them. It’s a little holiday cheer for “HIMYM” fans, and in that context, it works just fine. Take a look for yourself.
