Hyundai to air eight different commercials for the Super Bowl

If there’s one thing we know now about Hyundai heading into Sunday’s Super Bowl, it’s that the car brand is determined to leave a lasting impression to all those watching the sports spectacle just for the commercials.

We’ve already previewed their Brett Favre commercial a few days ago but now we have all of Hyundai’s advertisements, all of which are expected to air at some point during the game.

And by all, we mean all eight of them.

Carrie Underwood’s National Anthem Kicks Off Super Bowl XLIV

Carrie Underwood excels no matter what the context. Fresh off her headline-grabbing contribution to the Michael Jackson tribute at this year’s Grammy Awards (where she adroitly weaved her way through Jackson’s “Earth Song”), Underwood took the microphone in front of a sold-out Sun Life Stadium in Miami to deliver a killer rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the kickoff to Super Bowl XLIV.

Before Underwood performed, Queen Latifah sang “America the Beautiful” flanked by a children’s choir. Latifah broke it down during the tune’s finale for a jazz-inflected, gospel-tinged capper.

Then it was time for Underwood. Following the presentation of the colors, the “American Idol” alum took the stage wearing a white jumpsuit accented with silver chains and a silver belt. During her performance, the broadcast cut to scenes of soldiers in Kabul, Afghanistan, standing at attention.

“I am so appreciative of my wife, family, the National Football League, the Kansas City Chiefs and my teammates for their support,” said Waters. “Most of all I am thankful to the many organizations and families that partner with the 54 Foundation.

Plaxico Burress tells CBS life behind bars made him realize damage he did to NY Giants

MIAMI – After Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg, practically derailing the Giants’ 2008 season in the time it took the bullet to penetrate his skin, he still didn’t show much remorse to the Giants’ organization.

Burress demanded a trade, appealed the team’s decision to suspend him, fine him and withhold a $1 million payment of his signing bonus and refused to accept their offer to drop the appeal and continue with his current contract.

Eventually, Burress came to a different conclusion once he got behind bars.
