CLEVELAND, Ohio — Deposed Browns quarterback Derek Anderson has strong connections with Arizona and Carolina that could help him get his foot in the door with those teams.
Arizona’s director of pro personnel is T.J. McCreight, who was former Browns GM Phil Savage’s top aide in Cleveland. The Cardinals are seeking a quarterback to compete with Matt Leinart for the starting job after losing Kurt Warner to retirement.
In Carolina, offensive coordinator Jeff Davidson and quarterbacks coach Rip Scherer were strong advocates of Anderson when they were on the Browns’ coaching staff.
